Hi have read these boards for past few years. Excited to share and maybe help

Quick history. 2 natural pregnancies. 2003 and 2010. 2nd one took 4 years of trying with us getting bfp just before being put on ivf waiting list.
I have blocked right tube and partially blocked left.

Had unsuccessful ivf in Dec.
2 frosties from that. Had both (day 5 blastocysts) transferred 23/7.

1dp5dt cramping, lower back pain. Lay in bed most of day
2dp5dt same as above
3dp5dt cramping headache. Af type pains
4dp5dt cramping eased.
5dp5dt extreme lower back pain that made me get in bed. (Maybe implantation )
6dp5dt cramping back ache eased again
7dp5dt gave in and poas. Positive! !! Decent line on test with pm urine.
8dp5dt -11dp5dt mild cramps. Some nausea and mildly sore boobs. Getting more tired by the day.
Poas every day since. Has got stronger.

Definitely had a lot af style pain so don't rule yourself out ladies. I did spend a lot of time on Google first few days. ...not a good idea but we all do it !!

Fingers crossed to all! !

- 2 years and a half ttc
- unexplained infertility
- 2nd IVF finally brought my BFP

From the day of my blastocyst transfer until 7 days past transfer I had the following symptoms:
That would be until 12 dpo I gather:
- bloated
- headache
- really sore breats especially around armpits
- dry skin
- I felt like my stomach was pulling
Then from 12 dpo:
Everything disappeared. Absolutely everything! But new ones appeared...
13 dpo: nausea, headache and brown spotting , AF cramps
14 dpo: BFN on clear blue digital. Headache, brown spotting , cramps
15 dpo: headache and positive blood test!!! I'm still spotting ...
16 dpo: brown spotting , headache , cramps.
I'm taking utrogestan and it can irritate the cervix. Hence the brown spotting.
My beta is quite low. I'm praying my little bean will stick!!!!

Hi. I tried to post this on the "Am I Pregnant" forum but was having trouble getting it published. I did my first FET this month and have been taking 6mg estrace and PIO injections every night. I have not been feeling any early symptoms. I decided to do a HPT because I was pretty sure I wasn't pregnant and didn't want to wait two more days to go first beta. surprisingly it came out positive but i am still in disbelief. Is there any possible way estrace or progesterone could have altered the results? I did not take an HCG trigger shot this cycle. I'm trying not to get too excited.

4 years wait, 7 IUI and 2 FIV !!

I am so happy

Me and my husband are 32 years old. We live in Canada where the fertility treatments are free. We are lucky.

The first try I overreact because of the med. The transfert was cancelled. :-( and they froze all the blastocysts.
The second try, the first blastocyst died. But the second survived. But 11 days later the test was negative. Inthought I would never of my life become pregnant.
The third try was the good one. The blastocyst was a 'Bb' and it sticked!

I did not have ANY symptom. I only did a test in order to be responsible because I wanted to drink one Martini with my mother in law...
When I saw the line, I shaked for 30 minutes. I also screamed. The day after I had the blood test and it was positive.
It tooked me 2 weeks to believe it. I tried to be preg during 4 years and each month I did not have any symptom. This time too. Even now, at 7 weeks, no symptom exept bigger bigger boobs. My husband fing it funny they became big so fast.
It seems to be true that we have to never lose hope.
:-)
Good luck you all

BFP!! 8dp5dt

This is my second attempt to post my BFP, the first time I tried was on the day after I got my first very faint positive on 8dp5dt when I started spotting.. I didnt do it then because I got terrified that I was actually having a CP as I already had one about 18 months ago... so i decided to wait a bit longer before I shared the news.

Background... Me (39 going on 40 next month) DH (41) I have a wonderful daughter (11yrs) from previous marriage, got pregnant by accident and thought it was extremely easy to get pregnant... life has a way of showing you the truth!
After remarrying started ttc right away as I had just turned 36 and wanted to have my kids not that far apart... again life showing me the reality of how thing work!!!
We tried for 1.5 years and nothing, OBY-GYN send us to fertility specialist... how dare he??? I'm so healthy and fertile!! punch in face number one, You have your uterus covered in polyps, cannot hold a pregnancy with uterus like that you need to get a hysteroscopy. :-S
Afterwards doctor recommended at list to try IUI, but he recommends IVF because of my age... again I was in disbelief! I'm healthy, I exercise, eat properly, age with grandma!!@#$$@! so we tried non assisted IUI... BFN of course!
I was an idiot and doing IVF made me feel sick and wasn't! so we only did the one IUI and since it didnt work I thought that's fine, because they couldn't find anything wrong with us, except the polyps and they removed them...
Sure enough 2 months later I was late :-D I always have been a swiss clock when it comes to AF... so I tested the they after I missed my period and got a faint BFP!!! In your face fertility doctors!!! I'm pregnant as I knew I would be! made my appointment with my regular OBY-GYN for the following week... and just 5 days after my " good news" I started bleeding... of course panic and called the doctor to go in early... when I arrived the spotting was not as light as early in the morning and the nurse made sure she pointed that out, as if I couldn't see the freaking pee cup all tinted with blood and my heart falling into pieces....:-(
The doctor said we dont even get a positive on the urine test are you sure you got a positive... i was really frustrated with that doctor's office because of their lack of empathy!!!! basically the next days was full blown period that lasted 7 days! so i'm pretty sure there was something in there that just didnt stick. I decided ( my DH had no choice) that we would continue trying naturally and if by 39 we didnt get pregnant, we would visit the fertility doctors again
They received us with the same positive attitude as usual, now I said I want IVF right away! doctor was on board but warned me about the insurance, and not to get frustrated... of course that didnt happened I got frustrated when my insurance had a maximum life expense and requires that you do at least 3 IUIs before you move to IVF, now 2 years after the first time I saw them my AMH was lower than expected for my age... so basically chances getting smaller and silly insurance have the same requirements regardless of your values. the only good nes is that they counted the IUI we had 2 years ago as the first one.
Ready for IUI #2, pop me with drugs and get me ready to be pregnant!!! :)
oops we can't, you now have cysts in your ovaries, that are producing hormones, and we cannot give more because we risk making them bigger... you need to be on bcp :-( :-( 2 cycles came and go until finally those things started to go away. Now ready and on Clomid, only one follicle with the right measurments... good sperm count... now 2ww... my boobs were so sore that anything touch them and I felt like they were going to break... hopes getting high I'm having symptoms! result: BFN.
Ok, now IUI#3, same drill, BFN... but finally we are ready to go for IVF, right? well no, because after the IUI one of follicles still there and is now cyst almost 35mm big... so you have to take bcp again!
One week on bcp, cyst still there and getting stronger!! I hate you cyst!!! doctor put me on double bcp per day, i was definitevely feeling the hormone crazyness... but finally after full cycle on double dosis the cyst stopped producing hormones, but was still there same size, but my doctor, says it's ok we can go ahead and start you on your IVF meds.
My cycle was a little aggressive, I had to take 3 vials of Menopur + 325 units of Follistim and Omnitrope 5ml per day, after a few days values still low for the amount of drugs so I was bumped to 4 vials of menopur and 375 of follistim, kept Omnitrope the same. Stims lasted 15 days!!! after breaking the bank to pay for all this drugs, my insurance called t say that I have exhausted my limit and now everything is out pf pocket. You know relaxing times...
Finally we start seeing progress and i produced about 11 follicles, however about 4-5 were below 15mm... a couple were already 25mm so by day 15 we were done and now get ready for retrieval.
As everyone else I google every story and experience and compared to mine, just to confirm that not really any was like mine, their age was different and their protocol as well, but it didnt matter, I still went on reading and watching videos, one of them had 1/4 of the meds I had and she produced 55 follicles and had 48 mature eggs! wow amazing!

Retrieval completed and doctor tells me we collected 5 eggs out of the 11 follicles... :-S 5 only!!!! I continue to see my chances dropped by the day :-( Next day, 4 out of 5 fertilized, well that's a good %, by day 5 we had 3 still kicking out of 4, still ok... but losing them one by one :-S we decided to do PGD/PGS because we knew many eggs at my age come with anomalies and that's why ends up in miscarriage... we went on vacation, I needed a break!
During vacation they call us to tell us that 2 out of the 3 came back normal! so we have two frosties!!! that seem to be perfect and capable of developing :-D

Time for FET... hold on, you have polyps again!!!! we need another hysteroscopy :-| life could get any crueler???
by now it has been almost a year since we decided to do IVF in the process of getting it done...
Hysteroscopy checked, polyps removed, now finally moved to FET :-D we almost had a party, with the problem that we havent told anyone what we are doing, because people tends to be nosy!
Took the meds and everything look fine, by day 10 my lining was 10mm and hormones on the spot! we continue until day 19 when the transferred was schedule. Lining around 12mm, and doctor asks how many are we putting back... 2 of course!!! we are betting all or nothing!
I felt ok, a little bloated right after, some twinges here and there in the pelvic area and some sort of pressure around it to, but nothing else. I didnt want the 2 weeks to end, and I was terrified of testing at home to see a negative and breaking my heart to pieces...
I was happy in my bubble... until 8dp5dt I started spotting :-S and my bubble burst :-( I became a nervous wreck, started drinking water to see if more blood would come down, technically the next day was my 28 day from the moment we started my FET cycle, so this could easily be AF... when to the restroom a couple more times and in one of the occasions there was more than just a little spotting... I just panicked, no symptoms, like a clock... my beta was not schedule until 14dp5dt!!! i just grab my strength and had an cheap pregnancy test from who knows when sitting in my cabinet, although I knew that my " sample" would be watered down because of all the water I had taken I just did it. I couldn't wait in front of that thing, I took it, put it on the counter and left to do some work I had pending ... came down scare to see what I was expecting too see, and at the same time telling myself that if negative wait until tomorrow and buy another test don't crumble to pieces!!! when I got to the bath ... i closed my eyes took a deep breath and looked down to the stick... there it was a very faint line, but it was there!!!!!! i couldn't help but sob like there was no tomorrow, I was definitely ready for a BFN, but no was positive, and it was an old test. My husband called me that he was on his way back home, and of course he got worried that my voice sounded broken, Finally home I just took him to the bath and he saw the stick... and he didn't know what it meant... i started crying... again :-| and explained... following act? let's go to the pharmacy to buy a good one and re-test. We bought the FR and took another test... in that one the line was there right away and clearly, so I felt much better.
the next morning the bleeding continue and although I had taken another test, that came back positive... what about if Ii'm losing it? i had a CP before... so this could be the same... after a couple of hours I decided to call my RE and asked them what should I do??? they brought me in first thing that afternoon and rush a test, because if i was indeed pregnant and my hormones where not what they should be, they could be causing the bleeding... of course I thought I was hopeless and they would tell me I was actually getting my period.... but to my very great surprise and to stop with my anxiety, my test came back very positive, I had hCG 170.9!!! progesterone and estrogen, 49 & 286 respectively. They change the way I was taking the estrogen to increase it, and after that I have had two more betas, 2nd: 426, 3rd: 5238!!! during my last beta we also had our first U/S... we saw two little beans, that will hopefully become two beautiful princesses!!!!!
So far only symptom is enlarged breasts, a little more irritable than usual and thirsty.

Best of luck to all of you out there going through this ordeal... and lots of baby dust to you!!

Stage IV Endo, BFP with 3rd IVF

I have never posted anything online but I realized how much this site brought me hope during some difficult times that I thought it would be selfish not to do the same for someone else. I’ve provided as much information as possible because I liked knowing the details but consequently this is a long post. To give a little bit of background, I am 33 years old and was diagnosed with stage IV endometriosis when I was 30. At the time of my diagnosis, my father was dying of ALS, I had just gotten married, and I started experiencing abdominal pain (needless to say it was a high stress time which I believe exacerbated my endo). After testing and laproscopic surgery, endo was confirmed. As much endo tissue was removed as possible, my ovaries were put back in their proper position, and my tubes were cleared. At my 6-week follow-up with my surgeon, I expressed that I wanted to start a family (I had just gotten married) and he immediately sent in the fertility specialist at the hospital. I knew from previous research that endo can make conceiving difficult and I wanted to start the process as soon as possible. During that apt, the fertility specialist ordered another HSG just to confirm my fallopian tubes were still clear post-surgery, along with blood work to assess my ovarian egg reserve and whether I was ovulating or not. Turns out both tubes were clear at that point, my AMH (egg reserve) level was good (I can’t remember the number), and I was ovulating. We decided to do a round of IUI. Two follicles grew well and my husband’s sperm count was excellent. We were not successful. During the two week wait, I interviewed for a new job and was offered the position. Because I was starting a new job, I asked my specialist if I could wait three months before proceeding – she agreed. As the end of the three month mark approached, I called the case manager I was assigned and said that I had been experiencing some bad pain and thought another HSG should be performed before doing another round of IUI. Turns out both of my tubes were blocked. I live in Canada and our healthcare system allows for three paid rounds of IVF with bi-lateral blocked tubes and our insurance company paid for our medication. Two months later I stared my first round of IVF:
Day 1 of period started birth control pill
Day 18 of pill, went for ultrasound to ensure everything was calm with no cysts from using the pill. Brown spotting within a week of being on the pill until it was time for meds. Stopped pill that day and waited for my period
Day 3 of period stared 150 Puregon, 75 Menopur (did this for two days)
Added Femara 5mg on day 3 of injections to control the estradiol in my blood to help reduce the inflammation of endometriosis, along with Puregon and Menopur
Started Orgalutron 250 units on day 5 of stim meds to prevent ovulation
Used stim meds for 10 days. Injected Ovidrel on the night of day 10
18 eggs retrieved, 11 mature. ICSI used to inject sperm. Six eggs fertilized normally
Two embryos transferred on day 3, 1 six cells and 1 eight cells but not the greatest quality. None made it to freezing.
Prometrium, 600 mg vaginally
AF arrived on Day 13
BFN, Beta of 7 on day 16

After the first round was not successful, my specialist recommended that I go on Depot Lupron for a maximum of 6 months to calm the environment and stop the endometriosis from growing. We decided on five months and they were not easy but I knew it would be worth it (hot flashes, painful sex from lack of lubrication, and mental fog). We started our second round in October. My specialist added Omnitrope to the medication mix and switched out Puregon and Menopur for Luveris and Gonal F. Omnitrope was not covered by our insurance and cost ~$1,100. I also had a uterine scratch prior to my period starting. My embryo quality was much better this round and we made it to a Day 5 transfer with an advanced morula and an almost morula. However, once again, BFN, with no beta level detected:
Gonal F 200
Luveris 75
Omnitrope 3.33
Femara 2.5 mg starting on day 2 of injections until trigger shot
Orgalutran 250 starting on day 5 of stims
10 eggs retrieved, 7 injected by ICSI, 6 fertilized normally, none made it to freezing
AF showed on day 13
BFN, no beta
Prometrium, 600 mg vaginally

For my final covered round of IVF, I did some things differently. I was back on Lupron for three months. Even though I didn’t feel great, I forced myself to workout at least three days per week (I was always in good shape with a healthy BMI but during my last time on Lupron, I just didn’t have the energy). Two months before the start of the next cycle I started going to acupuncture once a week to help prepare my body for the next round. I started using the clinic’s counselling services to process what I was going through to ensure there wasn’t any emotional baggage that could be stopping this from succeeding. I have a friend who is a naturopath and I started on two homeopathic remedies (one to prep my uterus and one to cleanse my liver). During the three month period I took 3mg of melatonin at night but stopped during stim phase. This apparently can help with egg quality. I started eating organic, including organic meat. During my stim phase, I visited an Osteopath twice. On my third and last shot of Lupron, my specialist did another uterine scratch. This time it hurt so much but I left the office thinking it was going to really help. This time, my specialist did not wait for my period to start but had me come in three weeks after my last Lupron shot for an U/S and bloodwork to make sure everything was quiet inside. Everything looked good and I started my injections. I was happy about this decision because periods are never fun for me. My Luveris medication dosage was increased from 200 to 250 and my follicles were maturing at a good pace. I continued acupuncture three days a week during the stim phase. We continued to use Omnitrope as well. I stimmed for 12 days instead of the usual 10 mainly because I started from a suppressed state being on Lupron. It took a little longer but they grew slowly and consistently. Thirteen mature eggs were injected and ten fertilized normally. What I had learned from the last two rounds is that my embryos don’t really like the petri dish. Because I had a beta reading (albeit small) on round one and none of round two with a five day transfer, the embryologist and specialist agreed we should transfer the top two embryos on day 3 (even though they were good enough to wait until day 5).

On transfer day, I went to acupuncture after the transfer and went to a movie that night. I continued to go to acupuncture throughout the two week period to help keep cortisol levels low and help me relax. This time during my two week wait, I went to lunch with friends, booked a facial, popped into work, etc. I didn’t just sit still at home. The biggest difference this time is that on day 8, I experienced period like cramping but it felt like it did when I was younger and before my endo (more like a warm uncomfortable feeling but not painful). My acupuncturist had told me that the only symptom that seemed to be consistent among those who conceived was that cramping would be fleeting. In other words, it would last for a day or so and then be gone the next day. To my surprise, the very next day I felt totally normal and actually put on a pair of tight jeans. Then, on DPO 11, I experienced cramping and it was painful. I started doubting myself because of how uncomfortable I was. Again, the next day I felt fine. In my previous rounds my period started on DPO 13 by 2pm. This round, I felt very bloated on day 13 but no sign of my period and for once, no period like cramping. Also, I had no breast pain throughout the entire two week wait even while on high doses of Prometrium. DPO 14, still no sign of my period but I felt very bloated and my breasts started to hurt. I was bloated for quite some time and it was uncomfortable because my ovaries were still really large from the stim meds and pregnancy hormone can make them even bigger. I also started getting incredibly hungry. I started getting up at 4am and eating a full plate of leftovers, going back to bed and getting back up at 7am for breakfast. I had a metal taste in my mouth one morning when I woke up on DPO 8 that didn’t last long. I had no spotting and I could not see the veins on my breasts. I wasn’t nauseous until around 6 weeks pregnant.
Gonal F 200
Luveris 75
Femara 2.5
Omnitrope 3.33 starting on day 4 of meds
Orgalutron 250 starting on day 5 of meds
Ovidrel on day 12 of meds
24 eggs retrieved, 13 injected with ICSI, 10 fertilized normally
Transferred one 8 cell top quality and one 8 cell good quality, none made it to freezing (the specialist on call that day even mentioned that we had some good looking embryos)
Prometrium, 600 mg vaginally (200 mg three times a day)
BFP, Beta 468 on Day 16

I never kept any pregnancy tests in the house and was too nervous to buy any. I asked my case manager if I could come on DPO 16 instead of their recommended DPO 18 because day 18 fell on a Sunday and I didn’t want to get up super early for testing. I got the call by 11am on Day 16 telling me I was pregnant and that the beta was high enough that I didn’t need to come back for further bloodwork (468; the clinic likes a level of 200 on day 18 so I was well above). My ultrasound was booked for 45 days later at which point I got to see the single heartbeat. I am now 27 weeks and the baby is healthy. Because I have endo, when my belly has a growth spurt, I have been in some intense pain (I mean on my hands and knees with tears streaming down my face). But each time I knew it was growing pains which meant the baby was doing well. I always preferred reading the list of symptoms by DPO but there really weren't any other than on DPO 8.

Needless to say, the stakes were high this round but I felt a calm I had never before. I did research egg donation which helped me realize there were other ways to conceive to help decrease the anxiety I felt and it did help. I also believe trusting my instinct to transfer on Day 3 regardless of how good the embryos were made a huge difference, along with the uterine scratch. Who knows what else played a role or perhaps it all worked in combination. This is a horrible process and it is impossible to relax; however it can happen and I wish you all the best!

IVF #2 zero frosties BFP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

$

I have waited forever to make this post! I hope this helps someone waiting because I looked for symptoms and someone that went through what I did. After trying to conceive for 18 months we finally went to an RE and got some help. After 3 failed IUIs and one IVF cycle fail w/ no frosties, as a back up, finally IVF #2 worked. Unfortunately, we do not have any frozen for our next baby but I will happily go through it all again when we are ready for them. I'm so over the moon about my perfect little bean that is growing.

Me (34) DH (37) - low sperm count and we think maybe an egg/sperm issue. I had a low response to fertility meds and only produced 7 eggs each cycle and only this one embryo that I am currently pregnant with survived passed 5 days (13 didn't make it). What a survivor!!

3dt - transferred 2 average embryos. Only 4 & 5 cells (not looking good they want to see 8 cells by day 3)
1 to 9dp3dt - zero symptoms, I was a little sore still from the retrieval and had some soreness when peeing but that subsided each day
10dp3dt - morning of my 1st beta test, I decided to take an EPT test to know what to expect. Faint positive...I almost pass out!! Beta result is 87. BFP!!!
11dp3dt - I'm still nervous since my number was a little low. Slight pink streak...barely noticeable on my pad in the morning (nothing more). Took another EPT, positive and slightly darker...could this be true?
12dp3dt - Take First Response definite BFP (test line is still darker than the positive line). 2nd Beta 230 confirmed PREGNANT!!
14dp3dt - Take last First Response and line is same color as test! This will be my last pregnancy test!!
25dp3dt - first ultra sound confirms one healthy baby. 6 weeks and see tiny heartbeat...heaven!!

I have had zero symptoms. 6 weeks in and feel totally normal. No cramps, no spotting (expect that one morning, I'm sure it was IB). If I didn't see my little nugget with my own eyes yesterday, I would not have believed I'm pregnant. Only thing is I'm beyond hungry...I could eat a horse but that didn't happen until I was 5 weeks. So if you don't feel anything, don't count yourself out. I literally thought the night before my beta that I would never be a mother and was 100% convinced this cycle didn't work. I'm so glad I was wrong! I hope my story keeps at least one person's hopes up. IVF works and you don't always have morning sickness or symptoms!

Hi, I am 37 yrs old and wanted to share my BFP story.

This was our second cycle. We started in March 15, did our cycle 1st cycle in June 15 and thereafter our second cycle in August 15.

I am sharing my story to let you know there is nothing to worry if any of you go through any of these:

1) 2 hours after my embryo transfer, I had to visit the loo. I was feeling constipated and the amount of pressure I had to use was not funny. It was really really bad. Ditto on Day 2. So, not to worry.

3) On the 9th day I went window shopping. I actually tripped and fell down one step. It was a proper fall. I was so paranoid. I called the Dr who sounded concerned and told me to let her know if there was any bleeding. The drive back to my home was my longest one ever. when I reached home I was relieved but a quick tissue dab revealed blood and I was heartbroken. The Dr prescribed a medication for three days. On googling the medicine, Etasyl I formed the impression it was to ease heavy flow of menstrual bleeding and was very sure I lost the baby. I cried my heart out.

Infact I was so sure that I waited it out till hubby returned from a work trip and got myself tested on Day 18. It turned out to be a BFP!!

So all of you out there, do not worry if:

1) if you have cried a lot or been depressed during your 2ww
2) if you meet with a minor accident
3) if you need to exert a lot of pressure while using the washroom or if you are constipated (my Dr told me they are two entirely different mechanisms)

The other things I worried about but anyway did were:

1) I took no bed rest. My Dr didn't advise it. I was up and about on the same day. I rested on the bed where the procedure was performed for approx 20 mins. Thereafter walked down one flight of stairs, went GE which was a good 40 mins drive with the traffic (I wasn't driving, in fact Dr advised to avoid driving long distances during the 2WW). Once home, I slept for a couple of hours, and then it was just a normal day.

2) I went for a movie on Day 2. Went for Mission Inpossible V in IMAX on Day 5. Was worried about the impact of the sound & action.

3) I ate leftovers

4) I ate in restaurants

5) I didn't sleep too well. Woke up almost every night around 3 am and stayed up for an hour or two.

6) Webt for a slow 30 minute walk almost every evening.

7) Spent 2-2.5 hours in the mall at a stretch.

The things I did so were.

1) Stopped my daily Nespresso shot. Instead had 2 huge cups of white or green tea in the morning and a mug of premixed milk powder, coffee and sugar in the evening.

2) I did not eat any icecream or drink anything too cold. No carbonated drinks.

3) Wore socks to keep my feet warm.

4) tried to stay in fresh air with windows opening house all day long. Tried to take deep breaths.

Also I had virtually no symptoms during the 2WW, except for fatigue after walking around in the malls. I also started having a slightwhite discharge around Day 11.

My big learning from this experience has been:

The outcome of a BFP is 95% plus controlled by the quality of the embryos. There is precious little one can do or not do. Of course the no brainer rules like no smoking, alcohol or excessive caffeine need to be kept in mind. But other than that, the best thing to do is probably to go about your everyday routine during the 2WW.

Good luck to all of you out there. Muah!!

Hello All,
I just wanted to share my good news with you, because I have been glued to your stories to keep myself sane through my 2ww. Big Thanks! I got married 2 years ago and began trying, was refered to fertility ctr after 6 months and then had a few months on clomid, and then 3 IUI using clomid which were negative. -at the start I felt mad at my husband and myself for not trying during our 5 year engagement, he felt like I was going a bit crazy and I was sometimes mad at him for not understanding all my weeping when my period showed up-
On to IVF. We said it would be one time only, because of the cost 10,000CAD and the toll on our relationship. We had 13 mature eggs retrieved 10 fertilized and 3 make it to day 5 blast - 2 "good" 1 "ok". Since they didn't feel that the 3rd would make it through freezing they transferred all 3. I was upset because I wanted 2 kids and some frosties.
The 2ww wait was so frustrating, I had some cramps early on and sore breasts (but I had this with progesterone for IUI too) and a minor breakout, but I've been eating sugar and chocolate - stress eating the whole time.
Today I had my beta test 14 days after transfer and it is 1281 a BFP!
Hang in there ladies.
Hugs and Hi Fives!

I have read every single one of these BFP stories over my years of trying and promised myself I would write one when my time came. So here goes!

1dp5dt- felt some twinges but was still sore and bloated from egg retrieval so could have been that.

2dp-3dp5dt- gassy and very tired

4dp5dt- first clear symptom was walking around in the grocery store and felt really cloudy and just really strange. I wasn't dizzy but my head felt fuzzy, told hubby I'm pregnant I know it and bought a bunch of tests. Got an extremely faint line on cheapie Walmart test.

5dp5dt- FRER in morning is BFP but it's a squinter, tried to eat a sandwich hubby made and it tasted like hair spray, not into meat at all picked the chicken out of my pasta at dinner. Very tired, sore boobs but on progesterone and estrogen supplements so that's could be the reason.

6dp5dt- stronger positive on morning test waking up feeling like I'm starving and last 3 days waking up at 6am and not being able to go back to sleep. Feeling sharp quick pains in lower belly under belly button especially after dinner.

Today is 7dp5dt and line is darker today, first beta is this morning with a follow up 2 days later and then they call with results. I have to say I didn't really know any of these were symptoms until I got my BFP like everyone says I had more symptoms the months I got BFns. But we all know that's why we are here is to see the symptoms. lol I prayed and solicited prayers from all my friends and family and I felt really positive from the beginning of the treatment. We transferred one 5AA hatching blast and it worked. Stay faithful and positive and trust that God will fulfill his promises to you. Good luck!

BFP with 1st IVF!

After frantically searching for IVF success symptoms during my two week wait, I promised myself if I got a BFP, that I would add my own story to help others that were going through the same thing I went through. My journey started in January, I had 3 failed IUI's until I decided to move onto IVF. Once I started the IVF process, they realized that I did not produce a lot of estrogen and I did not have a high ovulation level, which is the reason they think the IUI's failed. My egg retrieval was at the beginning of July. They retrieved 24 eggs, 17 were able to be fertilized, but only 3 made it to the 6th day. They froze the 6 blastocysts and we waited over a month for my lady parts to get back to normal. I had my frozen embryo transfer on Friday, August 28th. I had 2 very good blastocysts transferred. I had acupuncture the day before, and the morning of my transfer...which I believe is beneficial. The lady that did my acupuncture also gave me a thing called a moxa stick, that I lit and circled around my head for 15 minutes for the first week after the transfer. This was said to help prevent miscarriage. She also recommended that I stay away from any cold foods or drinks. I drank room temperature water and red leaf (raspberry) tea...its also supposed to help prevent miscarriage. I ate lots of almonds, pineapple core, and avocados and crock pot meals. Brown rice too. I stayed on bedrest for 3 days, and then took 2 extra days just to take it easy. So 5 days of resting in total. 4 days after the transfer, I had cramping for most of the day. After that it was off and on. Similar to period cramps but not as strong and lower in my belly, around the uterus area. I was just praying that it was implantation cramping!! For the past week, I have been SUPER moody/emotional, extra hungry, extra tired...like I NEED a nap throughout the day, I have a weird smell last week when I peed (I emailed my nurse to ask if this was normal), I had a cramp in my right leg which I have NEVER had before, it lasted for about 2 days, when I turned a certain way, my stomach felt tight, or if I coughed, sneezed, or laughed too hard. I just had a huge feeling I was pregnant because I had never ever felt that way before. My first beta test isnt until tomorrow morning, but my mother wanted me to take a test (I'm doing this as a single mom) with her so I did and the 2 pink lines showed up so fast, we couldn't believe it!!! And the ClearBlue Digital said pregnant right away and it says I am 2-3 weeks. I couldn't be more excited. My biggest dream was to become a mommy and its finally coming true. I pray for good results from my beta test in the morning and that I have a HEALTHY, FULL TERM PREGNANCY!!!! I cannot thank God enough for this little blessing. I will find out at my first ultrasound if there is one or two little miracles in there!!! Stay positive and everything will happen in God's perfect timing!! I hope this helps someone who is going through the two week wait...all the shots, appts, emotions were all worth it!!! Best of luck to everyone!!!

I am so beyond elated to be sharing my BFP news!
Short summary and then I'll get to her symptoms.
I am a Breast Cancer survivor and I am on a medication that doesn't allow me to get pregnant again. I have a 2.5 year old son that was conceived naturally after 10 months of TTC after being diagnosed with Ovulation issues.
We decided to go with a gestational surrogate to complete our family. I did IVF prior to chemo and had 4 5day blasts frozen.
We did a single embryo transfer as per my age at the time of freezing (just turned 34) and the quality. Which wasn't perfect so don't get discouraged!! 4BC grade when frozen and then survived the thaw 100%:)

Transfer went picture perfect her lining was 10.5 at transfer time. One day of semi bed rest and then she flew home the next day. We didn't find out until Beta no HPT.

1DP - cramping ( needed to take tylenol)
2dp- She caught a bad cold.Sore throat and coughing so dont worry if this happens. Cramping.
3dp- Still sick. Sore and swollen breasts
4dp-Still sick- very dizzy
5dp-Still sick- dizzy and tired
6pd- feeling better but still dizzy and sore breasts
7dp- mild cramping, sharp pain in groin
8dp- cold almost gone, light brown discharge on liner, pains on right side of groin
9dp- sore breasts still
10dp-little tired
11dp- little tired still
12dp- beta day or so we thought!! The machine at the lab broke couldn't get results until next day! I thought we were out.
13dp- exhausted
and Beta was 100!!progesterone was perfect too!!!

This baby is an absolute miracle after such a nightmare. We are beyond appreciative of this miracle!! Never give up ever!

BFP on 5th Embryo Transfer

This was our 5th embryo transfer. It was our third FET. We had done a fresh IVF cycle in October 2013 and it was BFN, an FET in March 2014 and it was BFN. We did another fresh IVF cycle in November 2014 and it was a BFP but I had vaginal bleeding from the day before the beta and it resulted in a chemical pregnancy. I had another FET in May 2015 and it resulted in a BFP that started with a beta of 35 and again resulted in a chemical pregnancy. During this FET we transferred two of our frozen embryos and we only have one embryo left. I really had no hope left. We have been trying for 5 years and had 4 failed IVF cycles behind us. I had come to expect bad news. This cycle went very well but so had all the others. I has a lining of 12mm the day of transfer and estrodiol levels of 723 and progesterone above 40. All looked perfect. The transfer was flawless but all the others had been as well. Starting on 3dp5dt I had some cramping. That lasted a couple days. On 5dp5dt I noticed some old brown blood when I wiped so maybe implantation blood. My breast were enlarged and tender but had been even prior to the transfer. I had a random bout of diarrhea on 5dp5dt. On 8dp5dt I had the overwhelming feeling it didn't work. I figured it was my gut feeling trying to prepare me. But we found out on 9dp5dt that we were pregnant and my hCG was 167! So much higher than the last two times and I had no bleeding. So I feel this time is different. I will get my second hCG level tomorrow.

First BFP after 2 years of TTC

In the 2 years we were trying to conceive, I've been on this site many times to read about other people's experiences and it really helped me pick myself up during all those low moments and keep trying. This morning, I finally got the elusive 2nd line! I hope my story can help other people out there struggling with infertility to stay strong and keep fighting on this tough journey.

A bit of background, I'm 30 with PCOS, my husband is 38 with low sperm count. We've been trying to conceive since we got married 2 years ago. During these 2 years, we've had many cycles of disappointment. I had a surgery to remove an ovarian cyst. My husband took many vitamins to improve his count. We tried IUI once and it failed. Finally, we decided to stop wasting time and just go for IVF which had the best chance of working.

Due to my PCOS and high AMH, the doctor was worried that I would get OHSS, so he recommended a Lupron trigger and a freeze all cycle. We ended up with 11 good quality blastocysts all frozen on day 5. I recovered from the egg retrieval quickly and the next month we did FET #1 with 1 blastocyst rated 4AB, this cycle was a BFN. We were very disappointed. The doctor said everything looked good, it just didn't work. He told us to stay positive and that my chance is quite good. Since we didn't do PGD, it was likely just not a normal embryo despite looking great.

We went straight into FET#2 in the following month. Transferred 1 blastocyst again, another 4AB. Here are my symptoms:

Transfer Day - very smooth and painless transfer, no cramping at all afterwards. Went to the bathroom right after, did not lie down at all.
1dp5dt - no cramping, breasts are sore but have been since starting progesterone 6 days ago, very little cm.
2dp5dt - breasts still sore, no cm
3dp5dt - a little cramping, definitely noticeable but not the same as af cramp. Breast still sore. Noticed that cervix is higher when inserting the progesterone suppositories
4dp5dt - no more cramping, watery cm, breasts sore, cervix still high
5dp5dt - stronger cramps (not the same as af, more like muscle spasm below the belly button) for a few hours. Watery cm, breasts sore, cervix still high
6dp5dt - no more cramps, lower back sore, watery cm, started having shooting stabbing pain on the side of breast randomly throughout the day. Cervix high.
7dp5dt - BFP on Wonfo test strip. The second line is lighter than the control line but it is clear and pink, definitely no squinting.

It's still early so I'm cautiously excited. To everyone struggling out there, just know that you are not alone and it CAN happen, truly!

The back story..Me (39) & DH (38)...

July 2014 Got engaged after 9 months of dating..When you know, you know....
August 2014 Pulled the goalie & got pregnant with the first try! OMG, I didn't know how lucky I was..
Sept 2014 Found out we were having twins! (I'm an identical twin..)
Oct 2014 10 week u/s revealed both babies had passed about 8 weeks :( Had a d/c three days before bridal shower)
Dec 2014 CP early in the month, married Dec 27!
Jan/Feb/March 2015 TTC..nothing
April 2015 IUI BFN
May 2015 Had to wait a month because our clinic mandates you go to genetic counseling if doing PGS test and I couldn't get an appointment prior to period..seriously!
June 2015 IVF #2 9 Retrieved, 9 Fertilized, none made it to Day 5, day 3 didn't look good. NO TRANSFER

When I was 36 years old and single, I knew I wanted kiddos so I looked into egg freezing. I didn't have enough money (12k) at the time so I asked my parents if I could borrow a little. So, IVF #1 (alone) 19 eggs retrieved, 17 eggs frozen. During the stim process in June 2015 for IVF #2, we simultaneously defrosted all 17 eggs from IVF #1. 11 made it through the freeze, 11 fertilized, 4 made it to day 5 and were PGS tested. 3 normal, 1 abnormal (Chromosome 2, I have a skin disorder, Ehlers Danlos and this the chromosome that is affected. I live a very normal life (law enforcement) so I KNOW THIS EMBRYO is TOTALLY FINE TO TRANSFER!)

July 2015 2, 30 mm plus cysts..ugh rest month
August 2015 Decided to do another stim cycle because we wanted to bank more embryos because stats suggest 1 out of every 3 normal embryos will work. After 2 months of CoQ10, DHEA (50mg), AMH had increased from 1.34 (March 2015) to 4.21! FSH down from 7.8 to 4.9. That stuff works! IVF #3 27 retrieved,13 mature, 15 fertilized, 4 made it to day 3, transferred 3, froze 1...BFN! ugh...

Sept 2015 5 small cysts..ugh rest month
Oct 2015 Immune testing to maximize success rates from 65% to 85% one copy of MTHFR, PAI-II, and needed IVIG..5k later...ugh
Oct 27, 2015 transfer date! baby girl...
Only symptoms during ttw were heaviness in uterus and upon waking 6dp5dt boobs were a little sore under armpits, then more sore 7dpt5dt. I was on progesterone shots, estrogen, and lovenox, baby aspirin, and loads of other supplements. Did acupuncture 1-2x/week since June 2015.

BFP 8dp5dt on 11/04/15! @0345. Woke DH up...and we never went back to sleep...I'm still in shock!

3 failed IUI tried IVF- BFP- PCOS

I am 37 years old. Tried on our own for 6 months, added clomid/ ovidrel, 4 more months nothing.
Saw RE.
Found out I have skinny PCOS. I have alway had an issue w/ on time periods.
3 Failed IUIS. I did acupuncture, yoga, castor oil packs... FAILED.

I knew something was wrong. We went for the IVF. Something in my GUT told me to do the genetic testing PGS.

They got 15 eggs, only 6 made it to day 5. So, they tested those 6. 4 were bad!!!! So, I have 2.
I love the genetic testing. I know I am keeping frozen 2 good eggs. We know they are the same sex but, didn't ask the sex.
You only have to put ONE egg in cause you KNOW it is a GOOD EGG/blastocyst

Also, of my 4 that were bad 2 were the "higher" quality ones. So, if I didn't do the PGS I would have put a genetically messed up egg in and most likely miscarried. What they heck would you spend all the $$ for IVF and not know you are putting in a GOOD EGG?!?!

SO!!!
I was always looking for symptoms. To me I didn't have any. The only thing that was different was my boobs were tingly and bigger. I was bloated about 4-5 days after the egg went back in. They did a FROZEN transfer w/ me. Where I wait about 2 cycles for my hyper body to calm down from the meds from the Egg retrieval!

First beta was 450, next 1425! So far so good!!!

I just want to post that if you spend the $ for IVF, spend the extra for the genetic testing. It is an insurance policy so you KNOW you are putting back a good egg. If they took 15 eggs and 2 were good, and we were trying for 1.5 years... no wonder why I wasn't getting pregnant. Add to that stress, timing etc. etc.

SO!! Hang in there ladies!!!! I never thought I would be typing there.
I did acupuncture 2x a week, the day before transfer and day of.
Castor oil packs 4x a week.
Utericalm - taste nasty though
Raspberry leaf tea
Thera Natalpre Natal vitamins (ask doc for coupon code)
Maca Root in my shakes
Pineapple core
baby asprin a day
Metform for the PCOS before dinner
Fertility Yoga DVD http://www.amazon.com/Flow-Yoga-Fertility-Womens-Health/dp/B00EZVZKG4
Timing is key some of regiments so google when to do them.

I tested day 9 after transfer and got my BFP

GOOD LUCK and baby dust to ALL!

My BFP Journey with ISCI – it’s taken a while!

My BFP Journey – it’s taken a while!

So some background:
Me – 30 and never been pregnant (not even a smidge)
Husband – 32 and no children. Good quality sperm but normal form was 2% rather than 4%

My husband and I started trying in June 2013. By October 2014, nothing had happened and I had turned into a bit of a wreck so I went to see a gynaecologist privately with work insurance. (I had been to the GP in August but they just did blood tests and told me to come back in 6 months).

He instantly said my periods weren’t right, they have always been heavy and varied in length. He suspected endo, something I was also worried about.

I had a hysteroscopy and laparoscopy in November 2014. Lots of scarring found including a big ol’ cyst on one of my ovaries. He cleared it all up and gave me 4 months to conceive.

4 months came and went and I still wasn’t pregnant so went back to the GP and got referred on the NHS back to the same gynaecologist. Wasn’t really sure what to expect but he instantly referred me for ivf, a bit of a surprise! By the time I had more blood tests (hormones fine) and waited for my appointment, I started my first ivf cycle in June 2015.

After 3 weeks sniffing the hormones, the cycle had to be cancelled due to fluid in the uterus, it had to be removed with a hysteroscopy. Disappointing but I was going on holiday in August and the time scales were getting stressful so we decided to start again in September. Had the op beginning of September where he found no fluid (wtf).
Ivf cycle 2 started up again in September.

I was put on a short protocol and didn’t respond amazingly to the drugs. I only had 4-5 follicles developing and when I had my egg retrieval on 12 October, they only got 2 embryos.
Both embryo’s fertilised and I had two grade 1 embryos put back in on a 3 day transfer. We had the option of putting one in the freezer but we decided to go for ‘all or nothing’!

So my Two Week Wait went like this:

1dp3dt - nothing
2dp3dt - nothing
3dp3dt – I woke up in the morning having the most INTENSE orgasm dream of my life. I have had these before but never with the severity. As soon as I woke it turned into extremely painful low uterine cramps, it lasted about half an hour and only shifted with 2 bowel movements. I thought there is no way embryos could stick to my uterine wall after that. Although I wasn’t told not to have orgasm’s if you read online, it is a big no no to have any contractions. Has anyone else had this?!
4dp3dt - nothing
5dp3dt - a few jabby pains that got my attention but after egg retrieval (HOW PAINFUL IS THAT?!) everything was sore and bloated.
6dp3dt – Same, a few jabby pains
7dp3dt - Nothing
8dp3dt - BFN in the morning. I start spotting brown and presume it’s the beginning of my period as that is how it always starts.
9dp3dt – Heavier brown spotting. Sore boobs but I have had that since transfer, put it down to progesterone. I’m at a wedding and think fuck it so have a few drinks and shots.
10dp3dt – Spotting lighter and still brown but now have cramps that are EXACTLY the same as the day before my period would be. Seriously glum now and tell my husband, parents and sister that the whole things is over. Put a tampon in and go to bed expecting AF in the morning. Don’t bother doing progesterone suppositories.
11dp3dt – Go to the shop and buy a pregnancy test first thing just so I can get it out the way. Husband wishes me good luck and I tell him I don’t need good luck because ‘we all know what the result will be’. To my amazement, I get a BFP within seconds and within 2 minutes it is darker than the control line!!! Aches and cramps continue throughout the day. Phone the nurse at the hospital because I am now nervous about the spotting and she says to have ‘cautious optimism’ but it is very good news!
12dp3dt – spotting and aching have subsided. Boobs are still sore but nipples aren’t anymore.

Things I have learnt
- After ttc for 2.5 years, I thought I would instantly know that I was pregnant and something would be different. There was absolutely nothing different to my BFP and the build up to my normal period. I can’t believe how similar the cramps and aches were. Basically, you know nothing until you get a bfp!
- Don’t worry about having an orgasm! The uterine contractions I had after my dream were so strong, I honestly think if an embryo is going to stick it will
- I did the 5 day pineapple thing and ate brazil nuts every day but that was it.
- I really enjoyed doing the Zita West ivf positive visualisation CD. I tried to do it most days and always felt really good afterwards.

UPDATE: I have just had my scan at 7 weeks 4 days and we saw a bean with a very strong heartbeat! It has been an incredibly hard wait but such a wonderful reward. I have had quite strong cramps the past 2 weeks but it’s obviously everything moving around.

BFP in God's time!

Hello to every mommies and to the ones who are still hoping to be one! I just wanted to share my story about how God gave us this gift of life in His own perfect time. Me and my husband wanted to have our own baby. He is 46 and got 2 kids from previous marriage and im 36 and wanting to have our own little one too. So we opted to go for ivf ( my husband got vasectomy long time ago) and our only option is IVF. I was even worried coz my clinic said i had low AMh. So we started with the fresh cycle and ended as BFN ( our hearts was crushed but we have faith in God that he had plans for us in His own mighty time. We by the way had only 11 eggs matured and only 6 made it to the 5th day. So we transferred 2 on our frsh cycle and we only had one 6 day blastocyst that was frozen. So we all had our hopes for this only one blastocyst that we had left for put FET after a month of the failed fresh cycle. Trnsfer was done and i felt no symptoms at all until the 5thday post transfer that i woke up with a heart burn! And 6th days post transfer i felt i am really gonna have mg period that i was so grumpy and frustrated its not gonna work again and thats the only embryo we have left. 8 days post transfer i did hpt and there was that 2nd faint line i cant even believe it! 9dpt i got an beta of 38! And 113 11dpt! And now im 7 weeks prego and we saw that heartbeat! God works in mysterious ways we sometimes doubt his power ! But God always plans everything ahead for us and we should never loose faith in Him! So for all the women and couple wanting to have a gift from God hang in there ! He is on his way of making a jelly bean for you! God bless us all!

Oh yeah Bfp!! 5 day 2 blast transfer

Me: 35
Husband: 36
4th IVF cycle. 3 fresh 1 frozen.
This one was a fresh cycle. 7 eggs, 4 were good, 4 fertilized. Only 2 made it to 5 day transfer. One excellent and one pretty good. Already started hatching with Assisted hatching.
Our issue: 100 % male factor but I also had fewer follicles over last 4 years of TtC and minimal effect on max stim drugs.

Here's my log:

Transfer day: evening pinching cramps on right side. Slept 4 hours after transfer day. Overnight. Crampy all night. Woke up felt nerve quick pain in right boob. Peed a few times. Woke up very tired.
Day 2 p5dt
Slow start felt better by 2pm. Worked a little few meetings. Acupuncture.
11pm not tired but yawning. Punchy and silly in evening. Upper abdomen tense or slightly nauseous. Hot flashes.
Day 3 p5dt
Sneezed a lot today. Felt pretty good. Silly. Hands swollen during dinner. Cramping kind of like muscle spasm more than af. Under belly button. Hot flashes.
Day 4 thanksgiving
Strange Shooting pain down right leg in morning.
Day 5 p5dt
Friday felt fine. Beach walk with baby and family. Few hot flashes. Up to pee a few times. Started estrogen patches.
Day 6 p5dt sat
Acid reflux. Almost throw up in my mouth out of nowhere? Sharp pain under my belly botton. Pee smells weird. Overnight got up to pee, very disoriented and dizzy
Day 7p5dt Sunday
Twinges a little sharper, very hungry. Mild headaches all day. Dry skin, itchy. Body tiredness at night.

Insomnia

Day 9p5dt
Nothing in morning
Low back ache. Feeling yuck

Day 10 p5dt Wed.
Low back pain

Thursday 11dp5dt
Acupuncture today. She said my pulse felt "slippery" which was a pregnantcy pulse. She said very good sign.
Crazy dreams. Getting hungry at night.

Day 12p5dt Friday
When I chew gum I always have the same kind dentyne in black package. Tonight it tasted like rum pineapple..? Made Husband have a piece and he said I was crazy it tasted normal.
Just feeling all around pregnant. Heavy belly. Tired. Blood test in morning! Longest wait ever!

Day 13 dp5dt
Sharp pains in right ovary area that woke me up at 4:26 my lucky number! Tingling nerve pain in tip of toes and fingers sporadically.

Blood test is today.

BFP! Beta 460. Another test in two days.
Things I did:
Accupuncture transfer day and once last week.
Pineapple core
Kept feet warm
Tried to drink room temp water
Took it easy, did not let myself be too busy at work and did not let anything stress me out. (Last ivf cycle was unsuccessful and I did not take it as slowly and rest as much as I did)
I "built a bridge" -visualized every step with a positive end. A technique I had just learned from a healer a few weeks ago.

My pee smelled weird the entire time since transfer. It has been increasingly uncomfortable bending over last week. Last few days I've been uncomfortable in all my clothes. And I gained 8 lbs.

I feel so blessed that in 3.5 years we've had 4 ivf cycles, 2 pregnancies. (A beautiful 18 month old that will now have a sibling). So grateful for IVF and my 50% success rate!
Good luck and believe in the process!
