Success with IVF #2 with mild endometriosis/unexplained infertility

I hope this helps someone out there, I read through every single story on this website twice during each IVF cycle!
I have stage 1 (minimal) endometriosis and DH has no problems at all. They actually put us in the unexplained category. After a year of TTC and no luck, I had a laparascopy (where a few spots of endo were found) and we did about 7 cycles of letrazole and timed intercourse after that in which my RE told me I would definitely get pregnant since there was nothing really in the way and I was young (31 when we started). Well, I still didn't get pregnant. We didn't want to waste any more time so we moved on to IVF. We ended up with 8 blastocysts but we had to freeze all of them because they found a polyp in my uterus halfway through the IVF cycle. Moving on to the next cycle, we only transferred one of our 8 blasts because they said I was high risk of having twins due to my age (32 yrs). That cycle ended in a BFN. At that point, I thought there was something more going on here, like an implantation disorder or immune issues (too much google led to these thoughts). We moved on to frozen cycle #2. This time we transferred 2 blastocysts (one grade B and one grade C-which I was upset about). Lo and behold I finally got my BFP at 8dp5dt and am now 14 weeks pregnant with one baby!!
As far as symptoms, I had more with my failed cycle than my successful cycle. I had more cramping with the failed cycle and barely any cramping with my successful cycle.
I did however, start waking up at 5:30am every morning starting about 3 days before I got my BFP. That continued up until I was about 8 weeks pregnant. At the time, I didn't think anything of it but now I know that was a major pregnancy symptom for me.
I also had super faint and brief spotting 3 days after my transfer. You would have needed a magnifying glass to see it, but it was definitely there. That must have been very very light implantation spotting. If I wasn't a crazy person, I wouldn't have noticed it.
Good luck to everyone out there, it's a hard, hard road but everything will work out in the end!

Hi all
I found out yesterday I am pregnant! Just a little shocked after three yrs and three failed ivf cycles and having been told we would never conceive naturally. Now I am having cramping and really scared it might be all over before it had started - has anyone else been through this?

BFP on IVF Cycle converted to IUI after 16 months TTC

My husband and I started trying to get pregnant in late 2012. We went straight to IUI with donor sperm. We did 4 natural cycle IUI's on back to back months. BFN's. Then I had an HSG test to make sure my tubes were clear. Thankfully my tubes were great! However, they saw something in my uterus. Then we had a saline infused sonogram and they determined I had uterine polyps. So after some waiting I had surgery done to remove the polyps. Then more waiting for everything to heal. Everything I read suggested I might be more feetile following the HSG and polyp removal so we decided to add meds to boost our chances even more. We added Clomid and trigger shot and Progesterone support after the IUI. 3 more difficult and very emotional BFN's.

We took a little break, went on vacation and decided it was time for IVF. More months of waiting, testing etc. We finally get started with the daily injections and monitoring appointments. After 6 days they cancelled our IVF cycle due to a dominant follicle. They wanted lots and lots of follicles but I just didnt respond right to the meds. They said we could convert the cycle to an IUI, my lining was nice and thick and if it didn't work we would restart the IVF process with a new protocol. I was so bitter! I felt like my body had failed me and I agreed to the IUI just to avoid a total wasted cycle. I spent the two week wait being negative, feeling bitter and was absolutely certain it had not worked. I ate whatever I wanted, we had great sex and were gearing up for what we thought would be another go of IVF in a month or so.

The night before my scheduled beta I had one FRER in the house. I looked at my husband and said " lets just get this over with" I dont think we could have been more shocked when that beautiful 2nd line almost immediatly appeared! The blood test confirmed it the following day. We are 8 weeks along now and just saw our baby's heartbeat for the first time at our ultrasound. Its an absolute miracle!

As far as symptoms, I had none! I now believe I felt implantation because the evening of 8dpIUI I had a quick stabbing pain in my uterus followed by another about a minute later. I chalked it up to gas but the timing was right on for it to be implantation.

BFP Finally!

My husband is 38 and I am 37. He has no issues but I am Diabetic, had to clear one blocked tube, hysteroscopy to scrape away two new polyps, have PCOS, hypothyroid issues and I am considered overweight. I eat 900 calories a day but I cannot lose weight unless I eat 500. So I yo yo a lot! My a1c is at 6 but getting better now that my new high risk OB wants my sugar at 85 before meals and 120 2 hours after meals. The egg retrieval resulted in OHSS which took my sugars up to 300's until a week later when I lost the 11 lbs of fluid in my belly!!! So painful but we got 17 frosties so totally worth it! Was told to do a FET because fresh would be too painful. Uh, yeah!!! So 2/28 eggs retrieved and 4/18 we transferred 2 grade "Good" embryos with lots of prayers from us and for us!!

Days post transfer or dpo 1-3 no symptoms and I sat still as a mouse hoping not to shake them lose. They said I was to be a couch princess and I took that seriously!!

Dpo 4 went to work nervously! Stopped to buy organic pb and fruit. Felt sharp twinge when I bent forward to pick up jar of pb. Thought "uh oh" stopped shopping and went home.

Dpo5 saw more clear cm but attributed to progesterone cream and estrace cream but really it just started getting wetter and wetter each day. Sorry tmi. Felt elated and scared to get my hopes up. But convinced it worked.

Dpo6 took cheap dollar store test and it was negative. Cried off and on all day at work. Begged RE for early blood test and they refused. They said it was too soon and it would be inconclusive. On the way home I picked up 3 Walmart cheap tests and it came up positive with a barely there faint line. Pulled out of trash the one from the am and it now had a pink line. Cautiously optimistic I felt relief but knew deep down this must be evap lines. Analyzed with friends and pretended it was true and eased my 2ww hell.

7dpo same test with same result but took 5 min to show faint pink. Still thinking cheap n vaporative line. But still felt better living this lie than thinking negatively.

8dpo same test, still light but showed up in 2 mins. Eeek! Could be an accurate cheap inconclusive test. No more symptoms. Doubting its true but not buying a different test. What if it shows negative. Can't bear it! Would rather believe its possible than to freak over a negative fancy digital hpt.

Dpo 9-11 vivid crazy dreams and I feel it's due to light sleeping from anticipation that its finall 11 dpo and beta day!!! 1st beta 262.2!!! My jaw dropped! My air trapped in my throat! My mind shuts down and the room feels silent while I tried to even comprehend this reality!!! Had we really gotten this news! Pinch me! If I could move I would do it myself!!! My eyes well up and then I finally text husband our beta. He texted back, what does this # mean??? It's good honey!! It's very good!!! You can believe it!

13 dpo beta 698.6... Wait, what? Still pregnant! Seriously? How could we FINALLY be blessed? God says its time!!! Ttc 3.5 years 9 failed cycles with IUIs! God willing we will get to meet them!!! Possible twins alert!!!

Don't give up!! Stay positive even if you have to pretend! Fake it till you make it! Lol

Answered prayers!!

I wasn't sure I would ever have the chance to post this. After 14 months, God has answered our prayers for pregnancy! I used to read every new BFP by DPO story there was. . . I'm so happy to have one of my own!

So, we had been TTC for 14 months. We have tried Clomid, Femara, and injectibles - 5 failed IUIs, one failed fresh IVF cycle and one failed frozen IVF (FET) cycle. This was our third IVF cycle (2nd FET) and we did ICSI every time. The first two IVF cycles we transferred two embryos and this time based on the doctor's recommendation we transferred three. According to my RE, studies show that 90% of couples will get pregnant within 3 IVF cycles. Since my first ended in a chemical pregnancy and the second was a negative pregnancy test, I had every hope that the third one would be "it" for us, and it was!

You don't ovulate with a FET because they shut your system down with lupron (and don't want your body to release eggs as you already have frozen embryos to use). That said, you still count your "O" day as either the day you retrieve eggs (in a fresh cycle) or the day of conception. So, since we were using 3 day embryos and my transfer was on April 15, that would have made my "O" date 3 days earlier. . . April 12.

Prior to my ovulation date, the major noticeable difference this cycle was the increased CM. It was ridiculous how much there was. It was watery and so substantial that I could be standing talking to someone at work and all of a sudden it would start running down my leg! I would run to the bathroom, thinking it was pee?! blood?! but no, just CM. It was like that the entire cycle, so I must have been extremely fertile. Here are the rest of my symptoms:

1 DPO Increased CM
2 DPO Increased CM
3 DPO Date of transfer, out of it due to the valium, no noticeable symptoms besides being groggy
4 DPO/1dp3dt Increased CM
5 DPO/2dp3dt Increased CM
6 DPO/3dp3dt Very mild cramps (not like period cramps), mild pressure on and off, increased CM (had to start using liners at this point)
7 DPO/4dp3dt Very mild cramps, mild pressure on and off, increased CM
8 DPO/5dp3dt Mild cramps and pressure, hot flashes, constipation (unusual bc normally I go at the same time every day), increased CM
9 DPO/6dp3dt Mild cramps and pressure, very sore lower back, heartburn, increased CM, strong smelling urine
10 DPO/7dp3dt Bloating, cramps and mild pressure, backache (hurt to run across the street), heartburn, hot flashes, constipation (then later diarrhea!), acne breakout near my mouth
11 DPO/8dp3dt Twinges in my abdomen, continuous backache -- testing with FRER and FMU....BFP!! It was a faint line that didn't show up until 2 minutes 45 seconds in. . . and the test said to read results after 3 minutes so I had all but given up.
12DPO/9dp3dt Mild/dull cramps, pressure, twinges, backache, a little darker BFP with FRER and FMU
13DPO/10dp3dt Cramps, pressure, backache, constipation, even darker BFP!!

My first beta was at 13DPO/10dp3dt and they wanted to see a 20 or higher for a positive test. My beta was 79! Thrilled!
My second beta was at 17DPO/14dp3dt and they wanted my 79 to have doubled twice (double every 48 hours), so they wanted to see 316. My second beta was at 459!!!

We go for our first ultrasound in 5 days when I will be 6w2d along! I am SO EXCITED!

Praise God for this amazing gift!!! Oh, how he loves us!!!!!

Miracle on TTC Street!

I thank God for allowing this miracle to happen. I am 38, hubby is 39, and we've been trying to conceive for 2 years. Hubby was diagnosed with low sperm, motility and count. I had fibroids and possibly "old eggs". I conceived June 2013 after IUI with Clomid, but miscarried at 9 weeks. We knew there was trouble with that pregnancy from the start as my HCG was not doubling from the beginning and the baby did not measure correctly. Before we had the IUI, the doctor said my fibroids would not get in the way, but after the miscarriage, he concluded that they might have had something to do with it. So I had a myomectomy in October 2013 to remove them, and was told we couldn't try to conceive for three months until I healed. Those 3 months felt like an eternity! We tried IUI with Clomid 2 more times, and then finally decided to move on to IVF last month. It was the best decision we ever made. After a Follistim protocol, I ended up with 8 mature follicles, 3 of which fertilized and were transferred. I was shocked that only three fertilized and we had nothing to freeze, but as they say, it only takes one. How about this for timing... we had the embryo transfer on my husband's birthday, and on my birthday I found out I was pregnant via blood test! It was seriously the best birthday of my life. I never thought my 38th birthday could be so blissful! I am now 7 weeks, and the ultrasound reflects a perfect baby with great measurements and heartbeat. My due date is January 5, 2015.

As far as symptoms, I had virtually none. No breast tenderness, no nausea, no tiredness. Maybe a couple of hot flashes, but I've learned that fertility meds often cause them, so I didn't put too much stock in that. I did have implantation bleeding on 11 dpo. I recognized it immediately as I had it in my previous pregnancy. The only difference is that in the previous pregnancy, I had the bleeding on 13 dpo. I don't know how true this is, but I've read if you have implantation bleeding that late, that may result in miscarriage, because it shows that the embryo was slow to implant and therefore defective. At least that was very true in my case.

Ladies, if this could happen to me it will happen to you. Don't lose the faith. I know it's hard, but in the end when it does happen, it will all be worth it. Keep praying for God's will to be done, and not your own. That shows him that you aren't expecting him to do things on your watch and that you respect his timing. Enjoy life while TTC and trust that this will happen when it is meant to. And a final piece of advice - if you are teetering between IUI and IVF, just do the IVF (if of course you have the means to do it). We are fortunate to live in CT where it is covered by insurance, so that helped. For some reason I was initially scared to do it, but once it was all over I realized it wasn't that bad. I was kicking myself after 4 IUI's and wished I had done IVF sooner. The cycle goes by so quickly and the meds are not nearly as awful as Clomid can be. I love you all! Keep on persevering and know that miracles happen all the time! I'm praying for all of you sweet ladies.

I'm posting this to give all the ladies who are struggling to reach your goals some hope.
Background info:
Husband - low sperm count, low morphology, and low mobility.
Me - irregular ovulation, long cycles (42 days), recent diagnosed with insulin problem had to take Metformin.

We started with 1 round of unmedicated iui, 1 round of clomid iui, 3 rounds of folistim iui. NONE of those worked.
Then after taking about 7 months off to recuperate my body, we decided to start with IVF.
12 eggs were retrieved, 8 were mature, and only 4 fertilized. Doctor said that my egg quality is not so good might be due to the insulin problem. There was only 1 fertilized egg reached blastocyst stage and GDP was performed. It was our ONLY normal blastocyst. While waiting for the GDP result we has to freeze the embryo.

We had a frozen embryo transfer and I thought this would not work when I heard that people transfer multiple embryos at a time and sometimes only one would take.
There was no symptoms during the wait besides pulling sensation in the lower abdomen area ( blood work was 9 days post transfer).

The progesterone oil injection was so torturing and I needed a reason to go on, so I cheated and tested on the 6th day after transfer. It was a faint positive!! This makes the injections so much more bearable!

9 days post transfer:
1st beta = HCG 181
11 days post transfer:
2nd beta = HCG 587

Ladies, no matter how unlikely it is, there is hope and it will happen!! Hang in there and believe in yourself!!

Our beautiful BFP- round one success with ICSI!

Here's a little bit about us! I am 25 my husband is 26, we were married 2 and a half years ago and have been trying for just shy of 3 years. After hundreds or blood tests, 5 rounds of clomid ( ovulating well each cycle) laproscopic surgery to check for endometriosis, and my husbands sperm tested we were diagnosed with unexplained infertility. We were beyond frustrated and referred for IVF. Because of our age I was hesitant to go down the IVF road, and held onto the hope we would conceive naturally. Eventually i was sick of the disappointment and we moved into IVF. It has been the best thing we have done, we discovered my husband had low motility which was not picked up before and we needed ICSI to conceive. We got our BFP first go!!

Here are some of my symptoms :) sorry it's in reverse!

8dp5dt- very positive pregnancy test at 2am! Had a suspicion I was pregnant and couldn't sleep!! Positive blood test this day also! BETA 77.
7dp5dt- dizzy spells and hot flushes and sweating in afternoon, nausea when smelling strangers body odour, heartburn, fatigue, nausea, cramping and fullness around ovaries, bloated stomach.
6do5dt- extreme exhaustion, spent afternoon on the lounge couldn't move so tired . Heart burn, cramping. Hot flushes. Dizziness.
5dp5dt- diahorrea, stomach pain, exhaustion.
4dp5dt- swelling.
3dp5dt- swelling.
2dp5dt- swollen stomach and constipation. (From egg retrieval and progesterone I suspect)

Since my positive pregnancy test I have continued to be exhausted, period style cramping, nausea and heart burn. At 5 weeks my boobs are now starting to hurt also. I know it may sound cliche, but the three years of heart ache and disappointment feels like a distant memory now. I would do IVF 10 times over to get this result, and from my experience IVF was no where near as bad as I had expected!!

I have been following this forum for a while and finally decided to post my experience now. This forum was a great inspiration during the tww and I used to visit quite often to read good stories, check symptoms, get inspired and find positivity. With that said, here is my story, symptoms and the final result:

My Story:
I am 33, have been trying to conceive for 3 years now, with extremely high FSH (130+), no recruitable follicles, undergone 3 IVFs with first two being unsuccessful. During my third IVF (FET) I got a BFP (the best day of my life so far) with lots of tears, screams and more tears :)

Symptoms:
After the third IVF attempt (5 day blastocyst), I was on bed rest for 3 days, with no shower and no movement. Nothing happened during those 3 days except that I was shivering with cold all 3 days even after having 2 comforters on me :)

4dp5dt: When I took the shower, my head started spinning and i could barely stand on my feet. This was pretty heavy feeling and very unique too as it never happened to me earlier. I was feeling unusually cold all day and night....
5dp5dt: I kept feeling cold, tender breasts and nausea started hitting, also I used to feel very hungry. I also decided to go on complete bed rest even after the stipulated 3 days that was recommended by the doctor unlike my last two IVFs where I had to fly back on 4th day and return to work on 5th day. I was just a bit skeptical that not taking enough rest was the reason of IVF failure. I took 2 weeks off and focussed on IVF 200% this time.
6dp5dt: By 6th day, my nausea started worsening, used to feel cramps in legs exactly like how you feel when you’re about to get periods.
7dp5dt: Feeling cold, headaches, cramps, nausea and I had bouts of sleep in nights, very vivid dreams and used to get up at exactly the same time in the morning daily.
8dp5dt: Similar symptoms of sleep, headaches and nausea. I was on bed for 80% of the time with very little movement and a pillow under my feet always.
9dp5dt: Headaches again, cramping and craving for sour, actually very sour food :) we somehow knew that this time its different than the first 2 cycles but we didn’t raise our hopes.
10dp5dt:On the 10th day, my hopes ad patience reached a threshold and I asked my husband to get a clear blue HPT. We thought that we'll abstain from getting the HPT in this cycle so it took me a while to convince my husband. Finally he got it and I took it in the afternoon around noonish with bated breath and it said 'Pregnant'!!!!!! Clearblue also tells you the weeks of pregnancy so it showed after a minute or so (2 weeks) I literally had tears in my eyes and we were soooo happy to find out that it was a BFP finally!!!!!!

On 12th dpt I had a regular blood test to determine the HCG levels and it was confirmed that I was pregnant. My HCG was very high (1300ish) depicting that I might have conceived with twins. But after a week or so the second sac stopped developing, felt really bad about it but happy to have a singleton sac developing and turning into a real healthy baby. I am running in 18th week now and came back to this site today to share my experience with all you lovely ladies out there.

My last few words- Do not lose hope and believe in almighty, if its the right time to happen it WILL. Good luck and lots of baby dust to you all… :)

BFP with first IVF after 2.5 years of trying and two failed IUI

I cannot believe I can finally post my story. I've been trying for over two years and been charting my basal body temperature for that long... until the thermometer's battery is starting to be low. I read obsessively on other ladies' tww symptoms and every month I would be disappointed.

I had 2 failed IUIs and rested for two months before finally decided not to wait any longer and go for ivf. I have unexplained infertility according to the doctor. I am 33 years old, my husband is 34, and everything seems so normal for us. Regular stress at work, fatter than we both should be, and a sedentary lifestyle. I did not respond well to the hormone shots and while other ladies could collect a whole bunch of eggs for freezing, I had only 2 that I implanted and none that I could freeze. DH and I kept hopes up and I stayed home for two weeks with the blessings of my boss.

During the tww, I had progesterone suppositories three times a day (yucks), and kept myself occupied with the TV and knitting needles. I obsessed over painful boobies that no longer were painful after a couple of days, I had bad bloatedness and slight cramps. Also nauseous all day, and especially bad at night. The time that I started to suspect that it might be positive was when I was missing my usual backache that comes with AF. I am sure every woman has different symptoms and i recall reading someone's comment that we should observe the absence of usual AF symptoms for a better indication vs comparing with other ladies' symptoms. I cannot agree more. But then again it was comforting for me to read about other people's experience and did not feel so alone in my quest to be a mum.

To those trying still, I cross my fingers and toes for you that that day will come where you feel happy and scared and excited and confused all at the same time. Good luck!!! xoxo

BFP after 5 years of trying.... ALHAMDULILLAH

Hi everyone,
I can't believe that I am writing here. It's been 5 very long years that we are trying but nothing was happening. Let's start with our journey to bfp, we were in the category of unexplained infertility. We tried every thing but at last we moved to icsi (very difficult decision).
Start ivf with isci in march and 14 eggs were collected and 12 got matured and fertilized. 7 of them were grade A and rest were B so over clinic discard all great B. We did day 2 transfer of grade A (8 cells) embyo and 6 were sent to the freezer. Got my bfn and then our RE suggest that wait for next 2 cycles and then start fet.
May 16 started medications for fet, did a day 3 8cells embyo transfer.
12dpo got very faint bfp on HPT.
14dpo ( today) got really dark bfp on HPT.
Can't believe it's happened we are over the moon, I am unable to write my happiness in word. Thank you so much God for giving us such a precious and beautiful gift.
I had no major symptoms just light cramps like af in uterus, metalic taste in mouth and also a light pain in the sides of bbs but not always.
Can't wait for my first beta which is scheduled on Monday.
My massage is for all ladies in here is that NEVER GIVE UP IT'S GOING TO BE HAPPEN. I still can't believe it but It happened to me after very very very long 5 years. Keep praying and believe in God.

Always wanted to post here and always loved reading others BFP stories- checking symptoms and knowing that there were happy endings! Well, we finally got ours! I'm 40 and DH is 38- been married almost 3 years. Started trying in 2012 and after 6 months referred to RE. We tried timed intercourse and were going to try IUI but decided to take a break after my father passed away. We switched REs who suggested we try natural cycle IVF- much less cost and not as many drugs. We did the transfer on Easter weekend tested positive almost 2 weeks later.

What made me test??? Insomnia insomnia insomnia. Being hot. Didn't get any other symptoms until way past my first beta. Have had the metal taste in mouth, sore chest, weird dreams, cramps- but none of that before I tested positive.

Here we are, almost 11 weeks. Keep praying, solicit prayers and be patient. God bless!

Sorry for the Long Story, but it has a Happy Ending:)

Hi All, I am 26yrs old my husband 28yrs old, we’ve been together since we were teens about 12years back, but only been married just over six months.
We never worried about pregnancies in our teen years obviously because we were still very young.
I never had regular periods from the time I started getting periods at around 13, which was very nice as a teenager.
Years later when I was around 21 (year 2009) I started having this feeling of wanting a kid I don’t know where it came from, so I started asking questions about the chances of falling pregnant with irregular periods and almost all the normal GP Dr told me to take birth control in order to regulate my cycle and me being naïve I did as they said… fast forward 2years later and I’m 23 (2011)with no pregnancy, so I decided to visit a gynaecologist at age 24 (early 2012), that’s when I was made aware that I have what is called PCOS I was abit saddened with me being so young, how I could have problems conceiving, but was thankful I found out early enough, Dr told me with ovulation medication like Clomid it shouldn’t be a problem for me to fall pregnant… So he prescribed me about 3months’ worth of Clomid, 3 months passed and no pregnancy, I was devastated that there could possibly be a bigger problem than what Dr initially diagnosed…
So he referred me to a fertility specialist who also prescribed clomid for about 2months with trigger shots, and this time they tested my Husband’s sperm, and results came back with no problems, So DEFINITELY I WAS THE PROBLEM. Next step (July 2013) was for me to have Laparoscopy, hysteroscopy and ovarian drilling, ud think I was scared of the sound of all these things but I enthusiastically said YES, let’s go for it, I was in hospital for half a day for the procedure and was told I should have no trouble conceiving after all this… 3months later after procedure still no pregnancy, then back to my Fertility Dr, and he wanted to at least do 3 IUIs after the procedure before we move to IVF The Big Daddy of them All, so even though I was tired and just wanted something more aggressive I agreed and 3 IUIs later still no pregnancy…
(May2014) I am currently 26yrs old, I started with my IVF cycle, I Honestly didn’t have any after effects while on the meds, I actually felt quite normal and sometimes thought maybe I was not taking them correctly, They managed to Retrieve 14 eggs, 13 got fertilized, 6made it to day 5 Blastocysts stage, they Transferred 2 Good looking embryos, I was told to have bed rest for about 2days, but take it overall easy until blood test which was 10days later, so I did exactly that, I took home pregnancy test 9dpt and I got a BFP the first time ever in my life, I waited about an hour and took another one and it was also Positive, I cried and went down on my knees with disbelieve and just Thanked My God, I am still in disbelieve writing this, I got a call Sunday on Father’s Day while in Church from my Dr confirming that my blood test was indeed positive and I was pregnant…
Good is Great Ladies, if you keep believing in his miracles anything and everything is possible, I know sometimes it is hard to keep faith, but worry not because there is no other perfect time than Gods time, he knows when he will Bless you with that baby NEVER LOOSE HOPE… Like most ladies say “If IT Happened to me it will most definitely happen to you”
Baby Dust to all still trying to conceive and I will keep praying for everyone and myself to go through a healthy pregnancies and delivery. God Bless You All

37 and 1st BFP by IVF, ICSI and PGS

I like most of you have been suffering from Infertility for years. When I started trying at 26, I thought I would get pregnant easily. It didn't happen so I continued to enjoy my life and put it on hold. At 34, I started trying again for 2 years and nothing happened. I made an appointment with an RE and they discovered I had a fibroid on my uterus. I had surgery to remove the fibroid, some polyps and some adhesions. According to my doctor, my fallopian tubes were damaged from endo and they found scar tissue. On to IVF. The only problem was, my relationship at the time wasn't working so I decided to use a sperm donor. I started my 1st IVF in April 2013 and after $20,000, I ended up with 21 eggs retrieved and 3 surviving to blastocyst stage. Transferred all 3 and none of them took. On to my 2nd round! I started again Mar 2014 and had my egg retrieval Apr 2014. They retrieved 29 eggs, 21 mature and 15 ICSI'd. After 5 days, I was down to 8 embryos and got PGS testing done. 4 came back abnormal and 4 normal. They tested chromosomes so I knew I had 3 males and 1 female. On May 30, we transferred 1 grade 4AA male and 1 grade 3CC female embryo and I finally got my faint positive Jun 7. Here are my symptoms.
2 (days past) 5 (day transfer) - Felt sharp pain in my uterus
3dp5dt - Coughing and night sweats. Tingling in my breast and a pinching pain on the left side of my uterus. Also starting to feel cramps on the right side.
4dp5dt - Negative HPT - Same pinching pains mostly on the left and light menstrual cramps.
5dp5dt - Negative HPT - temp 98.1 - started to lose hope but then I felt light headed while standing in the kitchen.
6dp5dt - Negative HPT - uneventful day and wanted to stop torturing myself with the progesterone shots. But I decided to stay on the meds throughout the weekend.
7dp5dt - Negative HPT - temp 98.2 - pinching pains and throbbing feeling in my uterus.
8dp5dt - Negative HPT - temp 98.2 - pinching pains again
9dp5dt - Positive HPT - temp 98.2 - very very very faint positive, still feeling that pinching pain. I got this sharp pain that stated on the right side and then went in a circle around my whole uterus. It was weird.
10dp5dt - Positive BPT - temp 98.2 - Beta 35.9 - same pinching pains
11dp5dt - Positive HPT - temp 98.1 - same pinching pains and breast pain now
12dp5dt - Positive BPT - temp 98.3 - Beta 89.6 - same pains
13dp5dt - Positive HPT - temp 98.1 - same pinching pains and breast pain
14dp5dt - Positive BPT - temp 98.1 - Beta 235 - same pinching pains, light headed and strange bubble feeling in my uterus.
My 7 week ultrasound is on Jun 30 and that's when it will finally hit me that I am pregnant. I didn't get nauseous or implantation bleeding. On some days I do feel like my period is about to start but I'm not spotting. I take an HPT every day and the line has gotten darker and darker. I will come back and post the results from my 7 week appointment.

After 3 years of trying, we are pregnant. I have been through so much in the last 3 years I just can't believe this is real.

I'm 39 and have 4 children ages 20,18 and 13yo twins. I had a tubal ligation after the twins.

I got married again and had tubal reversal. I wasn't getting pregnant, checked my tubes,,,,, all good,,,,tried and tried,,,,, more testing found out that my husband had MFI and so we put him on vitamins and started doing IUI 3 rounds all BFN. Then found an IVF study a year and a half later ( all along still trying)and we could afford it so did that and BFN. We were waiting for my period to start so we could do 1 last round of IVF and My period was late I didn't think much of it because of all the drugs I've been on and thought I was just messed up from IVF. Anyhow my period is never late so at 5 days late I peed on a stick and surprise !!!!! I drove right to the Dr and made sure it was true. My beta was 240!!!!! I am 5w1d today. I never thought this would happen. And we didn't do anything.

Only had one embryo and it took!

My DH and I just did our first round of IVF. Our issue was male factor. I'm 33 and he's 41. I didn't respond well to the meds so I only had 2 eggs to retrieve and 1 that was mature. It fertilized and we did a 3 day transfer.
Well, that baby was a fighter and it took!
My bb's and nipples were soooo sore about 6dp3dt, so I took a test. It came back positive about an hour after. Did three more tests, that day and day 7 all of them popped up positive AFTER the allotted time. Finally 8dp3dt my pink line popped right up! Had beta day 10 and I'm definitely pregnant!

Other symptoms, I bruised in four places from acupuncture at 7dp, bb's veins were much darker and I had "odd" cramping not consistent with my normal AF cramps. They were twingy and inconsistent. But above all my bb's/nipples were so sore I couldn't sleep on my stomach anymore!

That's it! Good luck to everyone. Still doesn't feel real!

BFP on IVF #1 :)

I promised myself I would submit my story when and if I ever got a BFP. This site, and others like it have given me hope and really helped me during my (VERY numerous) two week waits.

My husband (45) and I (35) have been TTC for exactly a year. Very early on, we were diagnosed with severe MFI, mostly based on low morphology. My husband had a vericocele reversal in 1986, and our doc thinks that might be why his numbers were so low. We tried monitored and timed cycles, and 3 IUIs with trigger to no avail. Every cycle, I mistook PMS symptoms for early pregnancy symptoms and was always so disappointed, though in my heart I knew IVF would probably be the only route for us.

We began Lupron at a dose of 10 on cycle day 21, and that was lowered when we added stims on CD 2 (Gonal F 150 and Menopur - 1 powder- along with the Lupron at 5). I was on stims for nine days, and triggered on CD 12.
My retrieval was on CD 14, and they got 16 eggs out of there, 11 of which were fertilized. By day 3, we still had 10 which were growing healthily enough for them to push my transfer back to Day 5. On Day 5, we transferred one 5AA Blast and now have 7 blasts on ice.

My beta was this morning, and came up 250! Today is 14 "dpo" so to speak. We are anxiously awaiting the next two betas, scheduled for Monday and Weds.

If I have any advice to give it would be to make sure you have a fertility clinic with a great staff that is good at maintaining contact and giving you information in a timely manner. Although I wasn't thrilled with my fertility doctor herself (who I never really saw anyway), I WAS thrilled with the nursing staff. They explained everything so well, and always answered my questions. The nurses and support staff are just as important as the doctor, in my opinion!

Good luck to all!

BFP with IVF!!!

Finally I get to post! So here's my story (its a long one)...
Im 28 and DH 34, we got married on Feb '12 and we Started trying for our first on Sep '12 using ovulation sticks and preseed but nothing happened. My cycles started getting super long so I went to my ob in March and was diagnosed with PCOS, so I got started on metformin and in April did a medicated cycle (follistim and trigger) with timed intercourse. By October I had done 4 of those and nothing had happened. Thats when my doc said we had to get all the fertility tests, my DH was perfect but on my HSG one of my tubes was blocked so doc recommended we do IUI. We then did 2 of those and still nothing.
Thats when they found 2 chocolate cysts which they told me were from endo and had to get a lap surgery, so I had the lap and was diagnosed with stage IV endo and had tubal damage. Thats when docs told me IVF was my only option and the fastest way to get pregnant before my endo came back. So I went on bcp for a month and then started my IVF cycle. I had my egg retrieval in May, they retrieved 29 follicles and 19 were fertilized normally. I had two day 5 blastocysts transfered and everything went great and on day 6 they froze 4 embrios which turned out to be better quality than the ones they transfered. After 9 days I got my BFP, I did have cramping and pulling which I thought was implantation but all those symptoms I imagined were the progesterone I was taking. I took a month off with bcp and then as soon as I got AF I started my FET cycle which was easier except for the progesterone shots which I still have to take. They also transfered 2 grade 4AB embrios on July 10th and today after such a long wait got my first BFP, I took a hpt and a faint line appeared!! I also went to get my beta and it was 44 and it was increasing but wasn't doubling, it was 43 14dpo, 66 16dpo, 125 18dpo then 310 20dpo and 3868 26dpo when I went for an ultrasound and saw a sac at 5 weeks 5 days!
The only symptoms I had were cramping and pulling but Ive had that before, not even my bbs hurt.
What I did for both IVF and FET, I took FertilAid up until transfer then I switched to Prenatals, took Omega 3, baby aspirin, vitamin C and folic acid. Ate pineapple core for 5 days starting on the day of transfer, good fats like avocado and brazil nuts, coconut water and hot water with lemon everyday (supposed to help make the body alkaline.) I dont know if any of this worked but its what I did.
I go back at 7.3 weeks to see the heartbeat so wish me luck!!
Good luck to everyone!!!
